Abstract
Nanomaterials have been an essential topic in applied science and engineering, during the past decades. Nanomaterials have been synthesized, characterized and applied in many industrial applications. Zinc-based nanomaterials have attracted significant attention due to their high specific surface area, porosity, thermal stability and low density. Zinc-based nanomaterials are prospective materials for applications in electronics, photonics, acoustics and sensing. Application of zinc-based nanomaterials is highly promising in environmental monitoring and remediation. The zinc-based nanomaterials as a semiconductor have shown photocatalysis potential and uses in other areas. These nanomaterials have shown a good prospect for the environmental monitoring and remediation. This chapter focuses on synthesis, characterization and industrial applications of zinc-based nanomaterials.
