Abstract

To improve the cycling properties of zinc anodes, zinc oxide modified with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 ([email protected]) with a rough surface is synthesized by in-situ growth in the methanol solution. On the one hand, The inherent insulativity of ZIF-8 significantly increases the corrosion potential and reduces the corrosion current, which alleviates hydrogen evolution, realizing high coulombic efficiency; On the other hand, well-ordered nanochannels and N species of ZIF-8 provide zincophilic sites for zinc deposition, allowing homogeneous deposition on the surface, thereby inhibiting the formation of dendrites. Consequently, after 1150 cycles, The [email protected] anode still retains its capacity of 536 mAh•g−1, which is 90% of the initial capacity (596 mAh•g-1), suggesting excellent cycle performance.
