Abstract

AbstractThe preparation of functional biomass‐derived porous carbon with developed pore structures has always been a challenge without using acids and bases. Herein, a simple and green method is proposed to synthesize bamboo shavings derived porous carbon materials (BSCS) with large specific surface area and spongy‐like structure. The unique porous and loose structure ensures that the electrolyte ions can be quickly transported in the electrode material during the process of charge and discharge, thus making full use of the active surface. As a result, the assembled zinc‐ion hybrid capacitor (ZIHC) based on BSC4 displays a high specific capacity of 104 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 and an excellent capacity retention of 106.1 % after 10000 cycles. Importantly, the solid‐state ZIHC delivers high capacity of 124 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1, high power density of 15221.2 W kg−1, and remarkable energy density of 197.7 Wh kg−1. This work provides a green strategy to construct functional carbon materials from biomass waste for ZIHCs.
