Abstract

In article number 1602420, Zhao-Qing Liu, Tian-Yi Ma, and co-workers describe a high-performance Zn-Air battery on an advanced bifunctional oxygen electrode where the nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes embedded with Fe-Co bimetal nanoparticles are employed as negative and positive electrode-catalyst for the Zn-Air battery. The encapsulated FeCo nanoparticles are introduced to enrich the nitrogen sites that possess a unique oxygen catalytic ability. Actually, assembling the Fe-Co-C electrode into the Zn-Air battery achieves a boosted power density together with a robust charge-discharge cycle life.
