Abstract

Ziauddin Sardar is profiled as a cultural critic, scholar, and futurist. Sardar’s wide swath of cultural criticism in scholarly work is covered, from the cinema, America, the West, to trends in Muslim civilization that lead to broader insights into dominance and power, hated and xenophobia, and basic assumptions about the future. Sardar is not bashful about questioning assumptions, boundaries, identity, and a multitude of other trappings of modernity. He offers hope for Muslims and non-Westerners that multiculturalism, mutually assured diversity is possible.
