Abstract

Small cell technology has received much attention to improve the energy efficiency while keeping high quality of service of indoor users. However, as the small cell and macrocell share the spectrum resource, the interference may be serious. In this paper, we consider the small cell base station (SBS) and macrocell base station (MBS) as two players in the iterated game, where both players are able to choose continuous transmit power to control the interference and improve the utility of their own users. Due to the limitation of the backhaul for small cells, the small cell users want to ensure quality of service of macro cell users. Developed from the zero-determinant method, we propose a zero-determinant strategy for the SBS to unilaterally control the utility of macrocell user (MU) at the guaranteed value whatever the power control strategy of MBS is. Simulation results show the maximum utility of the small cell user (SU) can be achieved while the basic service of the MU is guaranteed.
