When I first read it in the early 1970s, Robert Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance left an impact on the way I lived my life and analyzed my thoughts. Ostensibly about two very different subjects–motorcycles and meaning–it is really about the search for quality in one's everyday existence.
