Abstract
Zassenhaus conjectured that any torsion unit in an integral group ring2Gof a finite groupGis rationally conjugate to ±gfor someg∈G. This has been confirmed for all finite nilpotent groups. We prove that such a result does not hold for infinite nilpotent groups.
