Abstract

This article is an inspiration to deeper analysis of satisfying psychological needs of children benefiting from hospice care for children, which are struggling with the enormity of the disease. It was showed a general definition of the needs and describes the most important psychological needs, such as the need for security, discretion, pay attention, meaning, contact, membership, cognitive, beautiful, positive self-esteem and sense of values, which meet the dreams of every child. It was showed the outline of palliative care for children. Moreover, they presented the conclusions from interviews conducted among caregivers, according to which, inter alia, that meet the needs of mental positively affects the well-being of a sick child and contributes to increase the quality of life.
