Abstract
DOI: 10.19251/rtnp/2020.12(10) Disability has been a phenomenon that accompanied human beings from the beginning if its existence. Humankind suffered a lot because of their handicap. Over the centuries, a person with a disability was treated differently; from being treated as chosen by the gods to terrible death as possessed by evil spirits. Disability – related events in Poland are the background for presenting the outline of the history and activities of the Special Care and Educational Center No.2 in Plock, from1950 to the present day.
