Abstract
The members of the Team of Phraseology and Paremiology in the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Szczecin – Jolanta Ignatowicz-Skowrońska (leader), Ewa Kołodziejek, Barbara Komenda-Earle, Ewa Pajewska, Tomasz Szutkowski, Beata Afeltowicz, Mirosława Hordy, and Maria Kabata – have embarked on the project of a complete etymological dictionary of phraseological units used in the general Polish in the 20th and 21st century. The completeness of a dictionary relies on providing thoroughly documented etymological information on those phraseological units which require such information and which can be found in primary sources, irrespective of the origin of the phrasemes, be it either literary language or community or foreign provenance. The project is at a preliminary stage now. The dictionary is planned to be published in the late 20s.
