Abstract

The Roman Catholic diocese of Lutsk Monthly was published in 1926-1939 upon the initiative of bishop Adolf Szelązek. Along with typically church-related and religious subjects, it also addressed such issues as education and teaching. More specifically, it became the channel, through which the higher members of the clergy expressed their opinions on teaching and education. Due to the absence of other historic sources, which were damaged during the Second World War, the Roman Catholic diocese of Lutsk Monthly has become an interesting source depicting the history of education in the Volhynia region during the interwar period.
