Abstract

On the 22nd of May, 2009 professor Milan Sojka, the external co-operator of the Department of Monetary Theory and Policy, died. He had been the head of the Department of the Institutional Economics at the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University and the head of the Institute of Economics at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno. He was one of the most significant contemporary theoreticians and historians in the field of the history of economic theories. He was a well known specialist in the area of the contemporary development of economic theory. He helped very significantly to describe the main streams in economic theory and published many excellent works, which are highly appreciated by his contemporaries and which will be very important for the next generations of economists. He will never be forgotten.

Summary

V pátek 22. května 2009 jsme se ve velké obřadní síni krematoria ve Strašnicích rozloučili s dlouholetým externím spolupracovníkem Katedry měnové teorie a politiky Fakulty financí a účetnictví Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze prof. V roce 1974 ukončil úspěšně studium na oboru politická ekonomie na Národohospodářské fakultě Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze a nastoupil na katedru dějin ekonomických učení. Zde v roce 1982 obhájil disertační práci na téma Koncepce omezeného ekonomického růstu a získal titul kandidáta věd v oboru dějiny ekonomických teorií. V roce 1987 byl jmenován docentem pro obor dějiny ekonomických učení. Po úspěšném profesorském řízení mu byl v následujícím roce propůjčen titul profesor, opět v oboru dějiny ekonomických teorií. Jako oblíbený školitel vedl disertační práce v doktorském studijním oboru ekonomická teorie a dějiny ekonomických teorií, na jehož akreditaci měl jako člen pracovní skupiny ekonomie Akreditační komise Vlády České republiky nemalou zásluhu. Profesor Sojka byl vysoce oceňovaným odborníkem především v oblasti dějin ekonomických teorií a historie českého ekonomického myšlení, patřil k předním znalcům učení současných proudů ve vývoji ekonomických teorií. Profesor Sojka byl oceňován jako školitel doktorandů, náročný, ale laskavý oponent doktorských a habilitačních prací, člen komisí profesorských řízení, oponent výzkumných úkolů, jako obětavý kolega a konzultant, čestný a všemi respektovaný odborník
