Abstract

The measurement of the blood glucose level utilizing the optical nonlinearity observed by a single-optical beam Z-scan technique is proposed. The glucose level is calculated by measuring the nonlinear refractive index (n 2) of the sample. The results are compared with the measurement made by the conventional colorimetric method and are found to be in good agreement.
