Listy kierowane do żony, osób duchownych, niewidomych dzieci z Lasek, literatów z kraju i zza granicy dostarczają interesujących wiadomości dotyczących życia i twórczości pisarza. Materiały nadesłane z Jerozolimy na prośbę autorki artykułu stanowią cenne uzupełnienie całości. Teksty potwierdzają ogromną fascynację pisarza tematyką religijną, a zwłaszcza umiłowaniem Biblii, która jest „księgą życia”.
