Abstract
<p>The paper presents discussion on crevasse fillings – one of a group of glacial forms which formation is assigned by various authors to two peripheral dynamics of ice-sheet masses: stagnant ice and surging glaciers. Examples from literature of crevasse filling formation in these two states of dynamics are presented. The author makes an overview of documented in the literature examples of crevasse fillings forming in stagnant surging ice and discuss the differences between the group formed in stagnant and the group formed in surging ice. In the conclusion, the author proposes – at the background of references – assigning crevasse fillings to the surge dynamics of ice masses whereas glacial forms, which develop in stagnant ice crevasses, should not be termed crevasse fillings, but interpreted e.g. as kames, eskers, hummocky moraines.</p>

What sort of ice dynamics are crevasse fillings connected with? – research overview. Słowa kluczowe: formy szczelinowe, szczelina lodowa, lód stagnujący, lód szarżujący, lodowiec/lądolód. Spośród różnych form rzeźby glacjalnej obszarów zlodowaconych, zarówno w plejstocenie, jak i współcześnie, znaczną ich grupę wiąże się z określonym stanem dynamiki lodu: zrównoważonym, dodatnim lub ujemnym. Flint 1971; Zieliński 1992); 2) moreny czołowe spiętrzone, charakteryzujące dodatni bilans lodu Flint 1971; Bennett 2001); 3) kemy, stanowiące zapis ujemnego bilansu lodu, a tym samym jegozanik powierzchniowy Na tym tle rysują się zagadnienia dyskusyjne dotyczące: terminu formy szczelinowe, używanego dla form rzeźby, powstających w szczelinach lodowych w warunkach odmiennej dynamiki lodu oraz cech charakterystycznych tych form. W kontekście powyższych zagadnień, głównymi celami niniejszej pracy jest: 1) przegląd dokumentowanych w literaturze przykładów form powstających w szczelinach lodowych, 2) porównanie ich cech i próba wyjaśnienia ich genezy oraz 3) przyporządkowanie ich do określonego stanu dynamiki lodowców/lądolodów
