Abstract

The advent of Information and Communication technology (ICT) has resulted in a remarkable change in the sharing and re-use of data among academic and scientific community. The wide spectrum of collaboration and interaction among the scientists and academia within the campus has extended further so that the research and research outcomes are shared globally. Conventionally it was done through research publications, and later through digital libraries and online repositories. These platforms fulfil the idea of sharing and reuse of data, but an exclusive platform for collaborative and collective representation of academic informatics is the need of the hour. This paper explains the features of an innovative and cost effective model for sharing and re-use of academic informatics developed by Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT).
