Abstract

The health crisis that hit Switzerland in March 2020 led to the closure of schools for almost three months. Teachers had to come up with new teaching methods to meet a triple challenge: semi-confinement, distance learning and the use of digital technology. In this article, we reflect on the creation of short video clips in the context of distance teaching in history classes in a college in the canton of Vaud. We explore the observed qualities and shortcomings of this teaching material in comparison and in relation to videoconferencing courses and the maintenance of a website. We thus draw up an initial assessment of this digital experience.
