Abstract

The goal of the research on vandalism is to reveal who is the real doer of vandalism (sketches) on the wall at the road sides, shops, and governmental building, even sketches on traffic signposts that exacerbate views, deregulate, and confuse traffickers. Almost at every road sides are not free of vandalism actions that break the street views. Data are gathered through location orientation in public spaces as target by vandal. Data gathering techniques through observation, interview with vandalism doers, security and order staff, and information from printed media as practical media that can be consumed directly by the people. The result shows that vandalism doers are youth at 13-16 of age, secondary and high school educated. With the use of spread-paint they are in action scribbling down which other people do not know the meaning, they feel satisfied. Vandalism is a form of youth delinquency that does not consider the beautiful and environmental order, sometimes even harm traffickers. Vandalism triggered by their high spirit to show the creativity personally or mischievous group, orienting to deviation and menacing public order. To anticipate vandalism school and community should procure talent development space to channel youth aspiration.
