Abstract

Early records show reference to 4-H Entomology in a 1919 USDA publication, “Boys and Girls Club Work—Diseases and Insects of the Home Garden,” by W. W. Gilbert, Pathologist, Bureau of Plant Industry, and C. H. Popenoe, Entomologist, Bureau of Entomology. From that time to the 1950's there was a gradual increase in 4-H Entomology work by the States.
