Abstract
An interest survey of high-school-age boys was made by the Institute for Social Research of the University of Michigan for the Boy Scouts of America. This survey showed 14- to 16-year-old boys to be more concerned about truly important things in life than we perhaps realize. Most of the boys (58%) said that taking on responsibility made them feel important and useful. Education and jobs are foremost in their minds, as 83% wanted to know more about vocations and career training. To obtain these objectives 94% wanted expert adult guidance.
