Abstract

This study aims at investigating the reality of Jordanian youth participation in political parties, in addition to discussing the main challenges facing young people and their engagement with political parties. Accordingly, the basic questions that need to be answered in this study are: What is the reality of Jordanian youth participation in political parties? What are the major issues and challenges affecting Jordanian young people's involvement to political parties? Are these challenges stem from the parties itself, or is it cultural obstacles? This study will use the qualitative research methodology that will help develop a better understanding and analyzing the views of young adults (ages18-30 year) towards the political parties. The study concluded that there is a mutual distrust between political parties and Jordanian young people. Moreover, Young people feel like they lose influence and there are many challenges facing them to be represented in the institutional political institution in order to participate effectively in decision-making process.
