Abstract

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredits educational programs leading to the MD degree. LCME accreditation provides assurance of educational program quality to medical educators, medical students, and the public. Many of the LCME's standards are directly relevant to the teaching and assessment done by anatomy faculty members. This session will discuss the LCME's expectations for some key standards that are commonly cited during reviews of medical schools and describe how anatomy faculty can assist their schools in achieving and maintaining compliance.
