RESULTS: Progesterone elicited a reproducible concentration dependent increase in [Ca]i with a calculated pEC50 of 6.9. A z’ value of >0.5 was routinely calculated for the assay using a maximally active concentration of progesterone (10mM). CONCLUSION: Following initial screening of a focussed ion channel compound library, a number of novel compounds were identified, with similar activity to progesterone, and now the subject of further evaluation.
