Abstract

Social determinants of health (SDOH) have received increasing attention from all aspects of healthcare, but the role of SDOH in dermatologic care is an ongoing area of research. This article demonstrates the occupational, language, and literacy constraints that complicate a Vietnamese immigrant nail salon technician’s diagnosis and treatment of chronic dyshidrotic eczema. This case serves to illustrate the importance of SDOH considerations in optimizing dermatologic care.
