Abstract

The Yohkoh spacecraft was launched on 30 August, 1991 by the Japanese Institute of Space and Astronautical Science. The instruments, which include hard and soft X-ray imaging telescopes, a Bragg spectrometer and wide band full sun spectrometers, are described in outline below. Results obtained from these instruments showing a number of solar flares and other activity were presented with special emphasis on data from the soft X-ray telescope.
