Abstract

In the past years, highly electron-donating ligands have emerged as advantageous for the development of high-performance platinum catalysts for hydrosilylation reactions. In this work, we report on platinum precatalysts based on our recently introduced ylide-substituted phosphines (YPhos). Because of the high electron-donating ability and steric demand of the YPhos ligands, these complexes are in contrast to Karstedt’s catalysts stable under ambient conditions but still enable high activities and selectivities in the hydrosilylation of both alkenes and amides at low catalyst loadings and under mild reaction conditions.
