Abstract

The ionization efficiencies of several molecules have been measured at the wavelengths 1067 Å and 1048 Å. These parameters correlate with the magnitude of the “Jesse effect” arising from the lowest resonance states in irradiated argon. The excitation yield for these states is deduced.
