Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study the “Yield and nutrient uptake of wheat (Triticumaestivum L) as influenced by different levels of nitrogen and foliar spray of nutrient mixture” during rabi2007-2008 and 2008-2009 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University Allahabad- India. The results show that highest grain and straw yield and nutrient content and uptake (NPK) was recorded with application of 120 kg N ha-1 and foliar spray of 2% Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) + 1% KCl + nutrient mixture (F2) whereas lowest value was recorded with application of 30 kg Nha-1 and foliar spray of 2% DAP + 1% KCl + 100 ppm maleic hydrazide (F4). Different nitrogen levels and foliar spray of nutrient mixture did not influence harvest index significantly. The interaction effect between nitrogen levels and foliar spray of nutrient mixture was found significant for grain, straw and biological yield with combination of 120 kg N ha-1 and foliar spray of 2% DAP + 1% KCl + nutrient mixture (F2) resulted in highest grain (49.2 q ha-1), straw (78.10 q ha-1) and biological yield (123.20 q ha-1).   Key words: Foliar spray, nitrogen, nutrient mixture, yield, wheat.
