Abstract

BBC microcomputers can be used for the collection of data from sensing devices such as thermometers and for the control of processes, motion displays etc. Sensors can be used as simple switches as for example lightoperated switches, when the digital inputs of the user port would be appropriate. For situations in which measurements are to be made and perhaps decisions are determined by these measurements, as in temperature sensing for control, the analogue port may be used.
