Abstract
We show that the quantization of (1,0) supersymmetric systems containing chiral bosons can be consistently carried out in flat superspace using the Hull mechanism. Thus, four-dimensional heterotic superstring nonlinear σ-models, which are free of “Siegel” anomalies, are shown to exist. We also review previous discussions on the quantization of chiral bosons.
