Abstract
Leaders of substance use treatment programs will often refer to the concept of a lifelong recovery journey, but many do little more than pay lip service to it. A new study published last month in the Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Mental Health uses information from in‐depth interviews with 11 former inpatients to convey why program leaders should change how they think about recovery if they're truly vested in their patients' long‐term well‐being.
