Abstract

Techniques for controlled year-round spawning of the zebrafish, Brachydanio rerio, under laboratory conditions, and mass collection of eggs are described. The spawning chambers and maintenance procedures of the mature fishes in the stocking tanks are explained. The usefulness of eggs and larvae of the zebrafish for bio-assays and experimental purposes is discussed.
