Abstract

In this study, by comparing the effectiveness of constructivist teaching approach with traditional teaching methods on learning the topic - cells, the level of success of the students has been investigated.. The sample of this study consisted of 47 students in two 9th classes who attend Konya-Kulu Anatolian High School. The cell subjects were taught according to the constructivist teaching approach in the experimental group while these subjects were taught according to the traditional teaching methods in the control group. Rodger Bybee\'s 5E model was used in the constructivist class. As a result of this study it was found that students who have been taught with the constructivist teaching approach were more successful than the ones have been taught with the traditional teaching approach.
