Abstract

In Ashtanga Yoga, out of the eight limbs Yamadi, here the first limb is represented as Yama. Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya and Aparigraha are the five Yamas. In the present time yoga is done by the lokas, in that the yamas-niyama is not followed smoothly, so here the importance of five yamas like truth, non-violence etc. has been shown. Key words: Rs. Yama Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya, Aparigraha Purpose: The purpose is that most of the people engage in yoga only with asanas, pranayama etc. Conduct is necessary to get the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of ease. This point of conduct has been mentioned in Yama.Niyam. Therefore, the aim is to attract the attention of the worlds to this conduct.
