Abstract
Abstract The dependence of yield stress on the size of ordered domains has been investigated by tensile deformation of polycrystalline wires of Cu3Au. In agreement with a prediction by Cottrell it was found that the yield stress was greatest when the estimated domain size was about 50 Å.
