Abstract

This chapter studies the interactions between the (sub)themes on the northern, southern and eastern wall and the entrance thicknesses, and links it to the chronological developments and changes that have been found on the western wall. The general chronological development of (sub)theme 2 on the four walls is, with the exception of the southern wall, a decrease which ends in the second half of the 5th dynasty. The (sub)theme never had an important role on the southern wall, but remained relatively stable throughout the Old Kingdom. The (sub)theme group 2, 6 and 8 have a tendency to decrease on the western, northern and eastern walls, while on the southern wall the group does not exist. The main role of the eastern wall is to depict the tomb owner in certain aspects of his daily life. Keywords: eastern wall; northern wall; southern wall; western wall
