Abstract

A new algorithm is proposed for constructing a calibration characteristic of an x-ray fluorescence (XRF) automated analytical control system (AACS) employing the internal (background) standard technique. It is theoretically established and experimentally demonstrated that a single common equation can be used for the quantitative analysis of multicomponent (complex) ores and the products of their concentration and processing measured on both the x-ray spectrometers intended for the analysis of solid samples and the spectrometers intended for the analysis of pulps. The proposed AACS algorithm was successfully tested under commercial conditions at enterprises of the Polar Division of the Mining and Metallurgical Company Norilsk Nikel. Based on this algorithm, effective AACS schemes have been created for the analysis of technological flows during the exploration of copper-nickel and other complex ores.
