Abstract

Solvent-cast film and hot-pressed pellets of BaTiO 3: poly(vinylidene fluoride) composite in the weight ration 70:30 were prepared and their X-ray diffractograms were examined in the 99°–103° range. The effect of temperature on the dielectric constant of these samples was studied at various frequencies. No Curie transition was observed in the film samples while the pellets showed a broad transition at about 150°C. The results indicate that while BaTiO 3 is in the cubic form in the film samples, its various structural forms co-exist in the hot-pressed samples.
