Abstract

AbstractWe condueted XMM observations of 5 faint Polars discovered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The X-ray fluxes and spectra show a variety of shock regimes. The lowest accretor has X-ray properties consistent with an origin on the secondary star. The light curves of all systems show large variability, with one showing a deep eclipse, and with some evidence for orbital-related variations in 2 others.
