Abstract

In this paper, a new series of high gain DC-DC called converters is proposed for renewable energy conversion. L-L converter is first member of XL converter series which combines the circuitries of two buck-boost converter (here, buck-boost converter is named as L converter). Different switched reactive networks are employed in L-L and three new converter circuitries (other members of XL converter series) are obtained. XL converter series can considered as a category of XY converter family in which Y converter is always L converter. The proposed XL converter topologies provide an effective solution for renewable energy applications which needs high voltage negative DC bus. The operating principle, characteristics waveforms, and voltage gain for all proposed discussed in this article. The prominent features of suggested XL are high negative voltage at moderate duty ratio, single power control switch, capacitors stack at output side, single input source, and transformer-less converter topologies. The simulation work is described and result depicted good abidance with theoretical analysis.
