Abstract

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a meta-language, used to create generalized markup languages. Active cycle diagrams are a specification language to describe discrete event models and it has been deployed in many simulation software environments. This work presents a specification for an XML for simulation models by using active cycle diagrams, named extensible activity cycle diagram markup language (XACDML). XACDML is designed to allow easy exchange of simulation model information on the Internet. With XACDML, simulation software environments are able to inter-operate and provide a more integrated approach for simulation process.
