Abstract

A 55-year-old, industrial painter presented to the emergency depar tment (ED) one hour a f te r accidentally injuring his left little finger during the paint job. He complained of pain over the injured finger. The finger was swollen with areas of ecchymosis and there was a small puncture wound at the palmar surface of proximal interphalangeal joint level of the little finger. He had full range of motion of the digit and it was neurovascularly intact. Radiography of left hand was taken (Figure 1).
