Abstract

The goal of this work was to improve the efficiency of early detection of microcalcifications, the earliest indicators of breast cancer. The work discusses the results of the mammographic examination based on the visualization of a convex combination of effective atomic number and density that are identified based on the dual-energy division and subtraction algorithms. The combined use of subtraction and division mammograms allows identification of both density and effective atomic number. The research showed that the visualization of a convex combination of effective atomic number and density significantly improves the efficiency of identification of microcalcifications.
