Abstract

AbstractA theoretical justification of an equation in which the matrix effects are corrected using the Compton peak, for thick specimens, is proposed. For the sake of experimental assessment with the same set of specimens but different spectrometers (wavelength‐ and energy‐dispersive), an intercomparison between ten models used for the determination of iron, copper, zinc and lead in polymetallic ores is presented.
