Abstract

Subgrain misorientation angles of the tin single crystals, which were crept below the transition temperature, were measured by an X-ray rocking curve method. The misorientation angles increase at a slower rate and have a magnitude that is considerably smaller than expected from cross-slip. It is concluded that diffusion controls the creep process of tin in the entire high temperature region.
