Abstract

Abstract X-ray crystallographic studies have been made on the anti-asthmatic drug disodium cromoglycate. Interesting features of the structure are the non-coplanarity of the chromone (benzopyrone) rings, an apparent disorder in the position of one of the sodium atoms, and the occurrence of water-filled ‘channels’ in the crystal lattice.
