Abstract
The article describes the research carried out in the Kaliska Forest District on a new variety of poplar ‘Zbigniew Stecki’. This poplar is an attractive hybrid of Populus maximowiczii x Populus simonii 'Fastigiata', occurring as a columnar type male clone. The influence of rainfall and temperature on the annual and total tree height was investigated. The amount of rainfall during the growing season does not have a significant influence on the shoot growth in the poplar variety Zbigniew Stecki.
