Abstract
This paper is devoted to the influence of the phenomenon of multiculturalism inlaw, particularly in the criminal justice system, bothin law and its application. This paper, as the title indicates high correlations with substantive criminal law and criminal procedure law at the local and global level. The context of multiculturalism demonstrates so called cultural defense that is defense in criminal cases with reference to cultural factors. The exemplification of the problems associated with multiculturalism has been identified by the examples ofban on face-covering by women in public places which is in force in France and Belgium and by the provisions relating to the so-called ritual slaughter which is in force in Poland.
