Its preliminary estimates for 1999 indicate an increase of 4% to 663 million tourist arrivals worldwide. WTO's revised forecasts for 2010 and 2020 are also presented for the six WTO regions, as are the global estimates of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Tourist arrivals, receipts, travel and tourism expenditures abroad and hotel capacity are presented for the nine countries of the South Asia region.
